Summer has come and gone!

So I am finally going to hop on the blog train, and what better time then the end of summer when my girls are going back to school. Tressa is in 2ND grade now and Josie is my cute and very excited Kindergartner. But first our summer....

Tressa and Josie had a great year in school. They learned a lot made new friends and got a little older.

My girls primary activity in June was a talent show. It was so cute. Josie sang "oh, boy I've got Joy" with her friend Jazzy, and Tressa did her ballet routine up to the point where she didn't have room to leap and then was to shy to do any more. But she did her dance at her class talent show all the way through later in the week. Both were great practice because the next Wednesday was the big recital. This was the first dance recital for both Tressa and Josie and they did great. Josie shook her hips and shimmied like she was the star of the show. Which she was. She defiantly has no problem performing. And Tressa took a great leap of faith just to get on the stage even though she was scared and then dance beautifully. It was a great success.

For Tressa's Birthday she wanted to go hiking with some friends. So we took a day to scout out the hike with her sisters. The place she wanted to go doesn't open its roads until July so it was a bit of a bummer so I took them up to Jon's favorite waterfall instead. The loved the hike and did great at it. They are all natural climbers so that helps. The waterfall was over flowing, so it was incredible to look at but impossible to cross in front of to the other side, so we had out picnic on an island of land in front of it instead.
Since the hike couldn't happen we went to the Zoo instead with Tressa's friends McKenna and Laurel from school. They had a lot of fun and were very hyper being together after the 3 weeks out of school.

Tressa's big present this year was a night out to dinner and shopping for a new bike with her Grandma's. This turned out to be harder and funner then she thought because apparently 18-inch bikes are very hard to find because not very many stores stock them. After several hours of looking at different stores they ended up at the first store and got the only girl bike in her size that they have in stock. She loves her new bike and was all smiles that she got to stay out so late and spend so much time with her Grandmas. I am just glad she doesn't have to ride her 12-inch bike anymore. Her little legs would have to peddle so fast to make the small tires turn with any speed and she had to sit up very tall and straight since the handle bars where so close. I always thought of the theme music for the wicked witch from the wizard of oz when she rode it.

Dun da da nu nuu nu....
